How to Use Price Lists in Enerpize
In this topic, we will learn together how to use price lists in Enerpize, after explaining in a previous topic how to create a new price list and add products to it.
In this topic specifically, we will learn how to:
- Adjust the product price in multiple price lists.
- Mass update the base selling price.
- Specify the price list in the invoice.
- Assign the price list to clients.
As we did before, our explanation will rely on practical examples to clearly understand how to use price lists and the advantages provided by Enerpize in price lists.
Adjusting the Product Price in Multiple Price-lists
This feature allows us to adjust the price of a specific product in multiple price lists without the need to add this product to each list individually.
To do this, first, we click on “Inventory” from the main menu, then on “Products and Services,” and select the product we want to add to several lists. If you don’t have any products, you can add one by referring to the “adding a new product” guide
Now, let’s apply together to a product we have, which is the “Silver Ring.”
After selecting the “Silver Ring” product, its control panel will appear.
Now, we click on “Edit.”
Then, at the bottom of the “Pricing Details” field, we will find the “Price Lists” section.
Click on “Add Price List,” and all our existing price lists will appear.
Here, it should be noted that we need to have existing price lists for them to appear.
To add a price list, you can refer to the guide “adding a new price list”.
Now, we select the price list from the drop-down menus.
Once we click on the price list, a new field will appear to add the custom price for this list, as shown in the following image.
Then, we press “Update” to save the price lists for this product with the prices customized for each list. This way, you can add the product to all price lists while specifying the product’s price in each list individually.
Prices Bulk Update
At some point, you may need to update the base selling prices for your products or for a specific price list you have.
To do this, first, click on “Inventory” from the main menu, then click on “Price List,” and then press the “Bulk Update” button at the top of the page.
The panel shown in the following image will appear, giving us the option to either update the base selling price or update the price list.
First: Price List Update
Through this feature, we can update a specific price list without changing the base selling price of the products on that list.
Now, having chosen to update the price list and not the base selling price, we select the ‘Wholesale Price List’ to apply, as shown in the image.
If we want to update all the products listed in the ‘Wholesale Price List,’ we ignore the classification and brand options and proceed directly to selecting the price update mechanism. If we want to update a specific category or brand within the price list, we can specify that, as illustrated in the image.
Then, we select the price update mechanism, either by amount or percentage. It should be noted that:
- When updating by amount, you only need to write the value if it is positive. If the value change is a reduction, you should put a (-) sign before writing the value.
- When updating by percentage, enter the value without any signs, then choose the type of change: decrease or increase, as shown in the image.”
Now let’s apply it to the ‘Wholesale Price List‘ and increase the prices by 10%, as shown in the previous image. Then, press ‘Save‘ to confirm the increase.
Once the process is saved, a confirmation panel will appear, displaying the list of products with the old and new prices, as illustrated in the image.
Click ‘Confirm‘ after reviewing the new prices. This way, we have successfully updated the price list.
Second: Updating the Primary Sell Price
This feature allows us to update the primary sell price of products regardless of the price lists. To do this, we first need to select the products whose prices we want to update.
To execute this first step, Enerpize allows us to select products either by category, brand, or both. We can choose more than one category and more than one brand.
After selecting the products to update, we proceed directly to selecting the price update mechanism. There is no difference between this and the price update mechanism in price lists. You must first select the price update mechanism, either by amount or percentage. It should be noted that:
- When updating by amount, you only need to write the value if it is positive. If the value change is a reduction, you should put a (-) sign before writing the value.
- When updating by percentage, enter the value without any signs, then choose the type of change: decrease or increase, as illustrated in the image.
Click ‘Save‘ and then ‘Confirm‘ after reviewing the new prices. This way, we have successfully updated the primary sell price for a group of products.
Assigning a Price List to Clients
This feature allows you to link one of your clients to one of your price lists, directly from the client control panel without the need to access settings or the price list control panel.
For example, if we have a client named ‘Khaled‘ and we want to assign the ‘Wholesale Price List‘ to him so that he is treated with the prices specified in the ‘Wholesale Price List‘ when creating a sales invoice for him, rather than the base price of the product, we follow these steps:
First, go to ‘Clients‘ from the main menu, click ‘Manage Clients,’ and select the client ‘Khaled.’ If you don’t have any clients, you can add a client through the “How to add a new client” guide.
Then, click on the ‘Edit‘ button in the client profile.
You will find at the bottom of the ‘Account Details‘ field the section for ‘Price Groups.’ Click on ‘Select Price Group.’
Then, select the list you want to assign to the customer ‘Khaled,’ which is the ‘Wholesale Price List.’ Press ‘Save.’
Now let’s make sure that client ‘Khaled‘ will have prices assigned to him in sales invoices according to the ‘Wholesale Price List.’
First, go to ‘Sales‘ from the main menu, then click on ‘Create Invoice.’ In the ‘Client‘ box, you will see all your existing clients. We select the client ‘Khaled.’
And as we can see, once we select the client ‘Khaled,’ the ‘Wholesale Price List‘ has been assigned as the default price list for him.
Now, all we have to do is add invoice items to see whether the primary price or the customized price in the ‘Wholesale Price List‘ will be added.
Indeed, the customized price for the ‘Wholesale Price List,‘ which is 180, automatically appeared for the client ‘Khaled,’ while the primary price for the ‘Silver Ring‘ product was 200, as shown in the following image.
Selecting a Price List in the Invoice
This feature allows us to select a price list from the lists we have when creating a sales invoice, regardless of whether the client is linked to a price list or not.
First, we need to take a step to enable the option to choose a price list in invoices. To do this, click on ‘Sales‘ from the main menu, then click on ‘Sales Settings,’ and choose the ‘General Invoice/Estimate Settings‘ tab.
At the bottom of the panel, we activate ‘Select Price List in Invoices.’ Then, press ‘Save.’
We now go back to creating a sales invoice.
First, click on ‘Sales‘ from the main menu, then click on ‘Create Invoice.’
Now, we select the client.
Notice that once the client is selected, a new field appears below the client field, which is ‘Price List.’ By clicking on it, all available price lists will be displayed for us to choose from.
